(for Paramedic/Firefighter)
PRE-REQUISITE TO EMPLOYMENT:
1) A valid State Driver's License
2) A valid Missouri EMT-P License
3) St. Louis County Fire Standards Commission Certification in Firefighter I and II
4) High School Graduate or Equivalent
HIRING PROCESS:
1. Completion of an employment application and resume including copies of certifications, licenses and training, submitted to the
Creve Coeur Fire Protection District's Administrative Center, 11221 Olive Boulevard, Creve Coeur, Missouri 63141.
(Directions: Highway I-270 to Olive Boulevard Exit, proceed east on Olive Boulevard approximately 1 mile)
2. Written examination successfully completed with a grade of 70% or above.
3. Oral interview.
4. Psychological profile.
5. Police record check and background investigation.
6. Physical examination provided by the Fire District's physician and paid for by the Fire District. (Physical includes drug and alcohol screen)
7. Chief's recommendation for hiring, subject to the approval by the Board of Directors.
FAILURE OF ANY STEP ELIMINATES THE CANDIDATE FROM CONSIDERATION
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
1. Employment requires a 24 hour shift assignment on a 3 platoon work schedule.
2. Retention of a valid Missouri Paramedic license.
3. Probationary employment for one year.
4. Mandatory physical examination by Department physician, paid for by the District.
5. ACLS, PHTLS or BTLS, PALS or PACTS certifications must be achieved within one year and retained.
